Is It Legal For Teachers To Flog Students In Nigeria?

During Our Nursery,Primary and Secondary School days, there is just one teacher we all are afraid of, guess who?. The one whose cane hurts the most.
So this question just pop into my mind is it Legal for teachers to flog in Nigeria? Smile

For western world it is illegal, For Nigerian well I can't tel..... but in Biafra land it is very very good to flog wen necessary, it is one of the process in making us who we are today

I think its more of a cultural acceptance than legal..but I believe even if its allowed it has a limit. if not it will become illegal and we can talk of legal cases like Battery or maybe Negligence.

There is no law against it here in Nigeria, I am yet to come across any school in Nigeria that ban the staff from using cane on the students.
It's not illegal in Nigeria but as for if it is legal is what I can't provide a straight forward answer.

Well the current governor actually ban it when he came to power in 2011 and that was why the teachers call students "omo ijoba" then.....till now the law is still intact even though is not actually everywhere but for school like African church grammar school and others I can't actually remember is still on....

not legal and should never be children are not cattle . punishment are acceptable
